To Our Valued Patrons,
As most of you know, on Sunday, December 6, 2020, Marty fell at home and suffered life threatening skull and brain injuries. His condition has improved greatly (like the tough, stubborn man that he is) but he has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Over the past 90 days both the Pizza Man family and the Coronis family have shown an incredible level of personal strength, commitment and stamina throughout a very difficult chapter.
We are proud to report that Marty's healing has exceeded many expectations and we are comforted and motivated by his long-term prognosis. We (especially Marty) were hoping to "defy the odds" when facing the importance of TIME and PATIENCE in the healing process, however a Traumatic Brain Injury needs to be taken very seriously as the brain affects everything from the quality of life (activities and purpose) to life at all (breathing and heartbeat).
Marty has attempted to "jump" back in to his old roles and responsibilities, both personally and professionally, and with the guidance of his doctors, therapists and family, it has been determined that this expectation of himself is putting his long-term healing in jeopardy. His exhaustion has led to confusion, poor decision making, slowed progression and a couple of dangerous stumbles that put him at risk of further injury (and, for the record, very much frightened his wife). It is easy to forget without bandages, casts or braces that there is still a serious injury to contend with. We are so thankful that Marty is ALIVE, that he is still so profoundly independent and that he really is incredibly healthy.
Marty has spent the past 30 years dedicating himself to his dream of restaurant ownership and it is extremely defeating and frustrating for him to not be able to perform at the level he desires. Marty, his work family and his personal family have struggled to find the balance between sustaining his dream and the health and welfare of his personal self, his family and his staff (who are like family to him).
He desires to have purpose. He desires to heal for a life worth living. He desires to keep his professional dreams in motion. He desires to fulfill his obligations to his employees-who have remained committed, loyal and dedicated through many challenges. However, the fact is that his brain is not ready nor able.
After much contemplation we have decided to offer PICK UP and DELIVERY only, until further notice. (effective 3/10/2021) This will allow Marty purpose while limiting the facets of his responsibilities.
Effective 3/14/2021--We will be open for limited dine-in hours and limited dine-in seating--Thank you for your patience while we recalibrate weekly as his healing allows. We know these actions are unorthodox, but we do what we do for him, with purpose and intent.
This decision is not easy for him and we all hope for his full recovery so that his whole world can get back to it's fullest potential.
We thank you for your loyalty, dedication, patience, caring, kind messages and understanding.
Questions, Inquiries and well wishes related to his progress can be found on his VERY APPROPRIATELY named Facebook Page "The Man with 9 Lives".
We love our customers, so come dine-in or dine outside on our patio in addition to take-out and delivery! We look forward to serving you.
